Peter is one of the founding directors of Origin and has over 25 years’ experience in mergers & acquisitions, long-term supply agreements, corporate strategy and industry restructures.


Peter has experience in the food & agribusiness, automotive, consumer goods, building materials, infrastructure, resources & energy and TMT sectors.


Roles have included:

  • ​capital raising for Xcem which is a manufacturer of eco-friendly walling systems;

  • divestment of SmartFreight (IFS Global), a leading logistics SaaS provider to WisTech Global; 

  • strategic advice to Sugar Terminals (STL) through the restructuring of the Queensland sugar industry;

  • AgReserves Inc’s divestment of the Kooba aggregation of irrigated cotton, corn and wheat properties in the Riverina;

  • divestment of majority shareholding in Private Brand Tools, a Taiwan based supplier of Australian designed automotive tools to US retailers;

  • divestment of CMI's TJM division to the Thai automotive supplier, Aeroklas;

  • joint GrainCorp / Gardner Smith acquisition of Goodman Fielder’s Integro business, with a long-term supply agreement between GrainCorp and Goodman Fielder and the subsequent sale of Gardner Smith to GrainCorp;

  • GrainCorp’s establishment of Bulk Terminals Australia, acquisition of Grainco Australia and divestment of its 50% interest in Australia Bulk Alliance to Sumitomo;

  • outsourcing Unilever's of retail margarine manufacture, through sale of non-retail margarine and oils assets with a long-term supply agreement with the purchaser;

  • Queensland Sugar’s negotiation of its price and terms of access to bulk sugar terminals owned by STL;

  • Norco Cooperative’s acquisition of a 50% interest in a milk processing and distribution joint venture from Parmalat Australia and divestment of a chilled distribution business to Fonterra with a long term supply agreement; and

  • takeover defences for ARC Energy, Ramu Agri Industries, Roma Petroleum and Central Petroleum.


Other clients have included  ABW Tools, Alice Springs Pastoral Company, Aronui Feedlots, AusBulk, Bulmer Australia, CHS Inc., Cotton Seed Distributors, CSR/Sucrogen, Gazal Corporation, Grain Growers Association, Holcim, Igea, Novus Petroleum, Pan Pacific Petroleum, Queensland Cotton, Reckitt Benckiser, St Vincents Health Australia, The Stanley Works and Wolseley Private Equity.


Prior to joining Origin, Peter held a senior position at Deloitte Corporate Finance.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland and a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern California.
