Ian has over twenty five years’ experience across the engineering and related technologies sectors, including senior roles with ABB Australia & New Zealand, Lend Lease Infrastructure Services, Transfield and Norfolk Group.

Ian was Vice President at ABB Australia & New Zealand (Asea Brown Boveri), during which he had responsibility for regional mergers and acquisitions, corporate development and company communications & marketing.

Ian’s in-house mergers and acquisitions experience includes:

• acquisitions of services and maintenances businesses, including a national rotating machine and service workshop business resulting in payback within two years;

• divestment of ABB’s electrical contracting and service business to Downer Group;

• divestment of Norfolk Group’s electrical metering business to a private consortium in New Zealand; and

• developed and executed the business case for a number of successful new business areas.

 

Ian recently joined Origin and is focusing on the engineering and industrial sectors.
