Frank is one of the founding directors of Origin and is the Managing Director of Origin Securities. 


He has over 30 years’ experience in providing strategic and transaction advice to clients on private treaty acquisitions and divestments, corporate valuations, listed company takeovers, takeover defence, and capital raisings (debt and equity). 
 

Industry specialisations include agribusiness, food, building products and construction materials, engineering, healthcare, infrastructure, manufacturing, oil & gas and resources.

Frank has worked with clients across many industry sectors, including:

Allhomes, Andromeda Metals, Arafura Resources, Asea Brown Boveri, Aurizon, AusGroup, Australian Potash, Bulmer Australia, CSR/Sucrogen, Dematic, Emeco, Fresenius, Gardner Smith, GrainCorp, Hastie Group, Holcim, Imerys, Macquarie Bank, Mobility ADO, Novus Petroleum, P&O, PNG Ports Corporation, Queensland Sugar, Ramsay Health Care, Rocla, SmartFreight, UCL Resources and Unilever.

Major roles have included:​

  • Fresenius Medical Care – advisor in respect of the $450 M acquisition of a 70% interest in Cura Day Hospitals;

  • Gardner Smith – advisor in respect of establishing a joint venture with GrainCorp, the $171 M acquisition of Integro Foods from Goodman Fielder and the $300 M sale of Gardner Smith to GrainCorp;

  • Holcim – advisor in respect of acquisition and divestment opportunities in Australia and New Zealand (confidential);

  • Imerys – advisor in respect of the sale of its Australian kaolin subsidiary to Suvo Strategic Minerals;

  • Mobility ADO – advisor in respect of strategic opportunities in the Australian mobility market and the potential acquisition of $485 M acquisition of Transit Australia Group, including procurement of $230 M of acquisition debt facilities from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia;

  • PNG Ports – advisor in respect of the recovery of the value of investments made through a financial counterparty, including analysis of the original transactions, identification of bases of action against the counterparty, development of the recovery strategy, implementation and recovery of funds; 

  • Queensland Sugar – advisor in respect of the potential hostile change of ownership of Sugar Terminals and negotiation of new long term access pricing as part of the defence strategy; and

  • Takeover defence advisory roles in the oil and gas sector, including Central Petroleum in respect of a takeover offer from Macquarie Bank.                                                                                                                                                                                           

Prior to forming Origin, Frank had senior roles with AIDC and Hambros Australia. 


He has a Joint Honours Degree in Mathematical Studies (Hull University, UK), is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Senior Fellow of FINSIA.
