Carlos has worked in investment banking for over 15 years and has advised clients on a variety of assignments including strategic options, M&A and capital raisings (project and corporate). Prior to joining Origin in 2005, Carlos worked with Protego Asesores (now Evercore Partners Mexico) in its Corporate Finance and Energy Areas. Carlos holds a BSc in industrial Engineering, a BA in Economics and an MBA (Australian School of Management).
At Origin, Carlos focuses on mining, energy and resource related infrastructure and industrials.
Major roles have included:

Imerys - sale of subsidiary holding its Pittong mine and processing plant;

Central Petroleum - takeover defence from Macquarie Group;

PKCT - corporate and shareholder facilities to refurbish/expand terminal;

Galilee Energy – CSM development & funding options, JV with AGL and merger with its major shareholder;

Eastern Corporation – salt, coal and CSM projects;

New Zealand Oil & Gas – project finance & refinancing of its interest in Kupe oil, gas and condensate field; and
-
Pemex – range of strategic matters.
Carlos has also worked with a number of other companies including Ausam Energy, Dematic, Ergo Corporation, Neptune Marine Services, Nido Petroleum, Norco Cooperative Limited, Pan Pacific Petroleum, Ramu Agri-Industries, Roma Petroleum and Rum Jungle Resources.
